Shoutout to the store brand that's basically the same as name brand
Honestly, I used to be a total brand snob when it came to canned tomatoes. I would only buy the San Marzano ones from the fancy section. But about 6 months ago, during a tight week, I grabbed the store brand at my local Kroger for $1.50 cheaper. Tbh, I made chili with them and couldn't tell the difference. Ngl, now I've saved like $30 total just on tomatoes alone. Has anyone else noticed the same thing with other pantry staples?

The store brand pasta is another one that's basically identical too. I used to buy Barilla every time but the Kroger brand elbow macaroni is literally the same shape and texture and it's like half the price. Same goes for their shredded cheese, I got the store brand Mexican blend last week and it melted just as good on tacos. Even their almond milk is the same as the name brand if you shake it up first. Once you stop caring about the labels it's kind of wild how much money you're leaving on the table.

Funny you mention that @christopherwilson, my buddy Dave swore by name brand everything until his wife bought store brand tortilla chips by accident one time. He was eating them with queso and didn't even notice til she told him after he finished half the bag. Now he's all about the Walmart Great Value chips and says they're less greasy anyway.
