The bakery discount bin turned into a 70-minute argument with my aunt

Last week I grabbed a day-old sourdough loaf from the clearance rack at the grocery store, marked down from $5 to $1.50. My aunt saw me and went off about how I was wasting money on stale bread, so I explained the dollar deal and she demanded I show her the tag. We stood there for 70 minutes while she pulled every loaf out to compare the date stamps, and she still insisted the 50-cent bag of rolls was a better buy because it was cheaper per item. I get that she likes to save, but has anyone else had a family member completely lose it over a clearance sticker?
