TIL Costco's store brand paper towels beat Bounty by a mile and save $8 per pack

I was a Bounty loyalist for years, wouldn't touch anything else. Then last month my wife grabbed the Kirkland ones on a whim because Bounty was out at our Costco in Phoenix. I rolled my eyes but whatever. First use I noticed they don't shred apart when wet like the cheap ones. Did a side by side the next day - same spill size, same number of sheets. Kirkland absorbed everything in 3 sheets, Bounty took 5 and left fuzz. Price difference? Kirkland was $4.50 less per 12 pack that day. Anyone else find a store brand that's actually better than the name brand?

Oh man my best friend had the exact same thing happen! She bought Kirkland out of spite when her husband grabbed the last Bounty and now she won't switch back.

That's how it usually goes with Kirkland stuff. People buy it as a joke or to be stubborn and then realize it's actually just as good, sometimes better. My wife did the same thing with their paper towels after she was annoyed at the store and now she won't let me get anything else.

Wait, she grabbed it out of spite? That's amazing. Like a full on "fine, I'll show you" moment at the store, and it actually worked out better. That's the most relatable thing I've heard all week.
