Took 3 hours to find a coupon code that saved me 7 bucks

Was ordering new work boots online, the kind I always get. Checked the usual promo code sites and nothing worked. Spent a whole evening refreshing and trying random codes from forums. Finally found one buried in a reddit thread from 2 years ago. Saved 7 dollars but honestly the time spent wasn't worth it. Does anyone have a faster way to hunt these down or is it always a gamble?
