Why does nobody talk about using price tracking apps for groceries

I started using a grocery price tracking app called Flipp last month and it's been a game changer. I noticed that my local Kroger in Nashville had eggs for $3.49 while Walmart down the street was selling the same dozen for $4.99. Has anyone else tried comparing prices across stores this way?

Wait have you tried scanning items with the Flipp app while you're actually in the store? I did that last week and found out my local Publix had peanut butter for $2.50 cheaper than Target. But here's the funny part - I spent like 20 minutes just walking around scanning random stuff and ended up buying a bunch of snacks I didn't even need lol. The app works good for sure but man it kind of turns grocery shopping into a weird treasure hunt where you're always second guessing yourself. I caught myself checking prices on toothpaste of all things like I'm some kind of secret shopper.

Yeah but did you actually save money after buying all those extra snacks you weren't planning on getting? Because I tried that scanning thing once and ended up with like $15 in random chips and cookies because the app kept saying stuff was on sale and I got FOMO. The peanut butter savings got wiped out by two bags of tortilla chips I didn't even open for a week. Also toothpaste scanning is a rabbit hole man, I started comparing per ounce prices on different brands and now I can't just grab a tube without running the numbers in my head like a crazy person.
