Cat inline pumps vs. rotary pumps: the old school wins every time
I swapped a rotary injection pump for a Cat 3208 inline pump on a 7.3 IDI last month and the difference in throttle response was night and day. The rotary felt lazy above 2500 RPM, but that inline just pulls hard all the way to the governor. Has anyone else run a similar swap and noticed the same thing?

My buddy Kyle's 2005 Silverado went from 14 to 22 mpg after he did the inline swap on his 5.3, which sounds crazy but I saw his fuel logs myself. He actually posted about it on his Instagram story and @stellaa69 was asking him all about the install, which took him like a weekend in his driveway with basic tools. The real kicker was his truck felt smoother too, but the gas savings alone paid for the parts in about 4 months of daily driving. Just depends on how much you drive I guess, but for him it was a no-brainer upgrade that actually worked.
