Check your injector return lines before they cost you a tow
Had a 2018 Freightliner Cascadia come in last Tuesday with a no-start that took me forever to trace. Turned out the injector return line had a pinhole leak, barely visible unless you ran it under pressure. That tiny hole let air suck into the rail and killed prime completely, even though the lift pump tested fine. I found the spec in the Freightliner service manual, they say those lines should be replaced every 150k miles, this truck had 310k. Cost the owner $480 for diagnosis and parts, plus a tow from I-40. Has anyone else seen return line leaks that only show up under load, or am I the only one who thought injectors first?
