I switched to purple coolant and my EOT dropped 8 degrees in two months
Ran green stuff in my Freightliner for years and always fought high oil temps. Swapped to Fleetguard ES Compleat OAT around 60k miles ago and the oil temp gauge sits steady at 205 now instead of 213. Did a filter change at 30k and the old filter looked clean, no gel or goo. Anyone else see a drop after switching coolant types?

Honestly that tracks with what I've noticed in other stuff too, sometimes the simple swap makes all the difference just like switching up your routine.

Wait, you're telling me switching up a simple thing like coolant actually made that big of a difference? That's wild. I'd have never guessed just swapping brands could drop temps like that.
There's no way I'm using tap water after reading that, I've been guilty of it before but not anymore.
It's crazy how little things we overlook end up being the biggest deal in the long run.
Makes me wonder what else I've been doing wrong all this time without even knowing it.

Stick with the Fleetguard stuff, that's what I run in my T680 and saw similar drops after flushing the old green out. Just make sure you're using distilled water when you mix it, tap water will mess up the chemistry over time.
