Just realized my old boss was right about using a torque wrench on injector lines

He told me 'you're leaving money on the table with those leaks' after a comeback, so I started torquing them to 35 ft-lbs exactly and my comeback rate on those jobs dropped to zero, what's one piece of shop criticism that actually made you better?

Guess they call it a torque wrench for a reason.

Yeah, that's a solid one. My first foreman ripped me for rushing through brake line flares. Said a bad flare is a time bomb. Started taking the extra minute to deburr and double-check the seat, never had a comeback on a line I made again.

Used to think that extra step was just busy work. Hearing stuff like what @kelly_craig said flipped that for me. Now I get it's just cheap insurance.
