Spent three days chasing a coolant leak on a 6.7 Powerstroke that was just a loose heater hose clamp

The truck was losing coolant overnight but only when cold. I pressure tested it, checked the usual spots like the oil cooler and degas bottle, and even pulled the turbo to look at the up-pipes. Finally found a tiny drip from the rear heater hose connection behind the engine block, a clamp that had just worked loose. Took about 30 seconds to tighten. Anyone else ever waste a ton of time on a problem that ended up being something stupid simple?

Spent a week hunting an electrical gremlin that was just a loose ground wire.

Ever have one of those problems that's so simple it makes you feel dumb? I swear the easiest fixes always take the longest to find. You tear everything apart looking for the big issue, and it's something a toddler could have spotted. That's just how it goes with wiring, right?

Disagree completely, wiring is rarely that simple. Most issues come from complex interactions you have to trace methodically. Calling it a toddler's fix just downplays real skill.
