Bought a $300 drawing tablet and it's collecting dust now
I spent $300 on a fancy Wacom tablet last year thinking it would level up my art. Turns out I just needed a $40 used iPad and a stylus to get the same results. Anyone else drop cash on gear they barely use?

You said "collecting dust" which is pretty accurate for mine too. Did you actually try using the tablet for anything specific before you gave up on it, or did you just realize the iPad workflow clicked better right away? Because I feel like there's a difference between not liking the tool and just not having the patience to figure it out.

Got it, @daniel474 - I forced myself to use it for a week straight with a drawing app and some note taking. It just never felt natural no matter how much time I gave it. Sometimes a tool just doesnt click for you no matter how patient you are lol.

Is it possible the iPad just has a better UI for creative stuff, or is it more about what you're used to? I mean, maybe the tablet requires a steeper learning curve than people have patience for.
