I thought using a $30 drawing tablet was a joke until I finished my last portrait in under 2 hours.
My friend in Seattle kept telling me to upgrade from my mouse, but I was convinced it was just gear hype until I tried her old Wacom and realized how much smoother blending and line work actually is. What's the one tool you resisted that actually made a huge difference in your workflow?

Felt the same way about getting a second monitor. Thought it was just for people who liked to waste money, but my god, the difference is real. No more flipping between a reference photo and my canvas like a maniac, or having my tools cover half the art. It just makes everything feel less cramped and way faster.

I get what you mean, alex307, but I've always found a second screen just makes a mess of my desk. I tried it for a while and spent more time moving windows around than getting work done. A single big monitor keeps things simple for me, and I don't miss the extra cable clutter at all.

Oh man, that's SO real. I fought getting a proper art chair for YEARS because my old kitchen stool was "fine." What finally made you give the tablet a real try, like was there one specific task that just broke you?
