Update: I used to think digital art was just for screens until I saw the new exhibit at the Phoenix Art Museum
They had this whole room of digital pieces printed on these huge, textured canvases... the light and detail looked totally different in person. It made me realize how much gets lost when we only see this stuff online. Has anyone else seen a digital piece that completely changed when you saw it in a real gallery?

Seriously, the scale is what gets me. Seeing a gif or video on a phone is one thing, but when it's a whole wall moving and changing, you feel it in your chest. That physical impact just doesn't translate through a browser tab at all.

What's the biggest piece you've seen that actually made you feel that?

Walk into that room and feel like you're about to get stepped on by a giant digital grasshopper, yeah. I saw this one piece that took up a whole warehouse wall, some kind of waterfall thing. It was so loud and massive I actually stepped back a little. My phone's tiny screen showing me that same clip would just look like a screensaver. Ever try to explain that "oof" feeling in your gut to someone who's never seen it?
