Cleaned out my photo library and chose Google Photos over iCloud
Had 12,000 photos on my phone from the last 6 years and it was taking up all my storage. I spent a whole weekend sorting through them and decided to move everything to Google Photos instead of paying for more iCloud space. It was a pain to upload them all over my home wifi but it saved me $2.99 a month. Now I just need to figure out how to actually delete the duplicates I found - has anyone else dealt with that mess?

Duplicate Finder app helped me clean up 800 of them.

Wait, does the Duplicate Finder app handle duplicates across different folders or just in one spot? I ask because I found like 300 photos that were the same image but saved in different albums (thanks to some bad habits I had with sharing screenshots). It was a nightmare sorting through them manually until I realized I could just use Google Photos' built-in "free up space" feature to delete the ones already backed up, though that only cleans originals from my phone not the ones in albums. Really wish there was a way to batch-delete duplicates without having to check each one individually, you know?
