Found out the average person has 90+ apps on their phone but only uses 9 daily - where did I get that stat?
I stumbled on that App Annie report about app usage and it made me wonder if deleting unused apps actually helps or just feels productive since we still keep the same 9 we actually open, what do you think - is digital decluttering just an illusion?

Shoot, you two actually made me rethink my whole app organizing system.

Digital decluttering is just an illusion" is probably the most accurate thing I've seen all week. I clean out my home screen every few months, delete all these apps I downloaded for one specific thing and never opened again, and then end up downloading them again the next time I need that one function. It's like cleaning your room but you still sleep in the same bed and use the same lamp, the rest is just visual noise. The report might be right but figuring out which 9 apps you actually use is just common sense, not a deep life hack. Pretty sure the only thing I've actually decluttered is the satisfaction of seeing a cleaner home screen for about five minutes.

Three years ago I deleted every app except for maps, messages, and my banking app. Kept going for two weeks without a browser until I caved. Now I just keep a folder called "junk" on my second screen. Throw everything in there. If I don't open it for a month, I delete without looking. @kim.zara you're right about the cycle though. I've reinstalled the same train schedule app maybe six times now.
