A stranger at Safeway changed how I meal plan, sort of
I was staring at the pork chops for like 10 minutes, totally stuck on what to make, when this older guy next to me said, 'Just pick one and build around it, that's what my wife did for 40 years.' He pointed at a jar of chimichurri and a bag of frozen peas. It sounds silly, but I stopped overthinking and now I grab one protein and two sides, no recipe needed. Has anyone else gotten a random tip from a stranger that actually stuck with them?

See, I actually had the opposite experience, that kind of advice just made me feel worse because I'd grab the protein and then stare at the sides for another 20 minutes anyway. I gotta know what the whole plate looks like before I even leave the house, otherwise I just end up with pork chops and a sad bag of frozen whatever.
