That $60 dutch oven was a total game changer for soups
I caved and bought a Lodge enameled dutch oven last month after burning through three cheap stockpots in two years. It holds heat so evenly I can actually walk away from the stove without stirring every 2 minutes. Anyone else feel like spending a bit more on one good piece of cookware beats replacing cheap stuff over and over?

You mentioned burning through three cheap stockpots in two years, and that's exactly the kind of thing that finally got me to switch. I think a lot of people don't realize how much heat control matters until they try something with some weight to it. That enameled dutch oven spreads the heat out so there are no hot spots, and you can actually simmer things without burning the bottom. It ends up being cheaper in the long run too, because you're not buying a new pot every year.

Oh man, YES! I had the exact same experience. I went through so many cheap pots that would scorch everything or have this one weird hot spot that ruined my chili every single time. The Lodge was a game changer for me too, I can finally just let a soup bubble away without hovering over it like a helicopter parent. And honestly, the way it cleans up is way better too, no more scrubbing burnt bits off the bottom for twenty minutes. It feels like one of those rare purchases where you actually save money in the long run because it just works.
