Can we talk about how meal prepping on Sunday actually costs me more money than just buying takeout?
I tracked my grocery receipts for a month and found out I spent $87 on ingredients for 5 days of meals, but I could have gotten the same food from a burrito joint for $62, which surprised me since everyone says meal prepping saves cash.

The same food from a burrito joint for $62" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there. I bet the burrito version is smaller portions, less leftovers, and you're not factoring in the gas and time to go pick it up either. Meal prep has a hidden cost where you buy spices, oil, and sauces upfront, but those last for months, so your first week is always the most expensive. That $87 probably includes stuff like rice flour or a bottle of hot sauce that you're still gonna use next week, so it's not a fair comparison at all. Also, eating the same burrito five days in a row is way less sad than the same chicken and rice, but that's a different convo lol.

Wait, @rosebarnes, is that $62 burrito total for the week or just one meal?
