Dumb moment at the stove last Tuesday ruined my whole dinner plan

I was boiling pasta in a tiny pot for years thinking it saves water, then saw a cooking video where the guy said crowded pasta sticks together and cooks unevenly, has anyone else been cooking wrong for way too long?

Wait... you used a tiny pot for YEARS? Like a little saucepan for a whole box of pasta? I had the same rude awakening about six months ago honestly. I was always wondering why my spaghetti came out either crunchy or mushy with no in between. Turns out I was basically steaming it in its own starch water because there wasn't enough room to move. Now I use my biggest stockpot even for a single serving and it feels wasteful but the texture is night and day different.

Has anyone else tried salting the water way more than you think you should? I found that helped even in smaller pots cause it actually seasons the pasta instead of just being bland no matter what. Now I just use a stockpot like you, but I still add a ton of salt and it's so much better.
