Had to choose between chili mac and tacos for a 20 minute dinner, picked wrong
I went with chili mac since I had ground beef and noodles, but the cheese sauce seized up and I ended up eating burnt pasta while my family finished the tacos I should've made, has anyone else ever gambled on a new recipe and totally blown it?

Oh man, that's rough. I've totally been there with the cheese sauce disaster, it's like one second you think you're a genius and the next you're scraping burnt stuff off the pan while everyone else is happy. Tacos are basically a cheat code for busy nights, they're just so forgiving and quick. I respect you for trying something new though, even if it backfired this time. You're not alone in that gamble, I've lost way more than I've won with untested recipes under a time crunch.
