My go-to frozen veggie blend saves me 20 minutes on taco night

I started buying the pre-chopped onion and bell pepper mix from the freezer aisle for $2 a bag, and now I just toss it in the pan with ground beef for tacos without any chopping mess, has anyone else found a frozen shortcut that actually makes a difference on busy evenings?

Oh man, I feel you on this one so hard. The chopping and dicing part of taco night was always the part that made me want to just order fast food instead. I started grabbing those frozen pepper and onion blends a few months back and it seriously changed the game for me. Now I even use them in stir fries and fajitas, not just tacos. It's such a small thing but it makes a huge difference when you're trying to get dinner on the table fast.

Huh, I actually kind of like the chopping part! It's weirdly relaxing for me after a long day, like a little ritual before the chaos of cooking starts. I get that it takes time, but I find the fresh crunch of a bell pepper I sliced myself beats the frozen ones every time. Plus frozen veggies can get a little watery in the pan, especially if you're trying to get that char for fajitas. I'd rather spend the five minutes dicing than end up with sad, soggy peppers. Different strokes for different folks though!

Four or five minutes, though? I mean, is chopping a bell pepper really that big of a time suck in the grand scheme of things? I'd get it if you were prepping like a whole sheet pan of fajita filling for a party, but for a regular taco night it's like what, an extra two minutes at the cutting board. I tried those frozen blends once and they just turned into kind of a limp, sweaty mess in the skillet, not really worth the trade off to me. To each their own I guess, but I think people are overselling how hard it is to dice an onion.
