PSA: My instant pot cracked on the counter last Tuesday

I was making a quick chili for dinner and heard a pop, then saw a crack spreading across the inner pot. This was after maybe 20 uses over six months. Anyone know if this is a common issue or did I just get a bad batch?

Wait, did you mean the inner metal pot or the actual base of the instant pot? Honestly, I've seen people complain about the non-stick inner pots cracking, but the stainless steel ones usually hold up fine. Tbh, sounds like you got a bad batch or maybe you hit it with a spoon one too many times.

Are you sure that newer models don't have a weaker seal ring or something? I read somewhere they changed the material a few years back. My old one from 2018 still holds pressure fine, but my friend's 2022 model leaks like crazy.
