Finally chose between a new fence or fixing the old one

The posts were leaning and I had to decide on a full replacement or just resetting them. I went with resetting, used a post level for the first time, and saved about $800. Anyone have tips for keeping the concrete mix from setting too fast in the sun?

Wait, you saved eight hundred dollars just on the fence posts?

So you saved eight hundred bucks but now you're fighting concrete in the sun? Sounds like you traded one problem for a much hotter, faster-drying one. Next time, try mixing in the shade or even using some cold water to slow things down. A damp burlap sack over the wet concrete can work wonders too. Honestly, the real tip is to just start at sunrise before that sun gets mean.

Ever think saving money on materials would cost you more in sweat? I used to skip the burlap trick until a summer job taught me how fast sun ruins fresh concrete. Now I'd rather pay a little extra to avoid that fight.
