Just swapped my old bristle brush for a silicone caulk smoother on the bathroom trim
Used to fight with rippled caulk lines and endless tape cleanup, but that $4 silicone tool from the hardware aisle gave me a perfect bead in half the time last weekend, anyone else ditch the old methods for cheap little gadgets?

Swear by those little silicone beaters now lol. Got one just for smoothing out kitchen backsplash caulk and it made things look way cleaner than any tape job I ever did. The trick is to hit it with a quick spritz of windex first so it glides like butter. Honestly can't believe I spent years messing with wet fingers and paper towels.

Wait, you spritz it with Windex first? That's wild (in a good way). I've been using a little dish soap water mix but I bet the ammonia or whatever in Windex really helps it slide without sticking. Gotta try that next time I do a bathroom vanity. My last caulk job looked okay but I had to redo one section three times because the beater kept grabbing and pulling.

Wait, you guys are using little silicone beaters and Windex? Am I the only one still using my thumb and a wet paper towel like some kind of caveman? I've been rebuilding the same bathroom vanity corner for three years now because I keep giving up halfway through. Honestly I tried the dish soap trick once and it just made everything greasy. Maybe I'll actually finish this job before the next decade.
