My neighbor swore duct tape could fix a leaky pipe, so I tried it on a pinhole in my basement.
Held for a solid 4 hours, then sprayed water all over my utility room at 2 AM. Has anyone else had a cheap fix actually last longer than that?

@rosebarnes hit on something there, that 4 hour fix is just like life's other quick shortcuts that end up costing you double later.

My cousin tried that on a garden hose once and it lasted a whole weekend before it split right down the tape seam! Those cheap fixes are always a gamble but man, that 4 hours of success feels like a win until it's not.
