Rant: my old house had a closet door that would not stay on its track
I fought with it for a year, trying every adjustment screw. Last month, I took the whole thing down and found the top wheel was just gummed up with old paint and dust. A five minute scrub with a wire brush and some WD-40 fixed it better than new. It's crazy how the simplest fix is often the last thing you try. Anyone else have a 'duh' moment with a stuck door or drawer?

My first step is always the wire brush.

Honestly, I've spent so much time with a wire brush I should probably buy it a birthday present. Found a whole mouse nest packed in a track once, fur and acorns and everything. The brush just pushed it into a sad, fuzzy lump. Ended up using a shop vac and a coat hanger like some kind of rodent archaeologist. Felt pretty silly after assuming it was just dirt.

That's a classic fix, and @alice269 is right about the wire brush being a good first step. It's easy to overthink the problem when the solution is just basic cleaning. What was the weirdest thing you've ever found gumming up a track?
