Shoutout to the guy at the hardware store in Tacoma who saved my drywall project

I was hanging a new sheet and kept getting those awful bubbles under the tape... I'd been doing it for years. He saw me buying more joint compound and asked if I was wetting the tape first. I had no idea you were supposed to dampen the paper tape before you bed it in. My whole garage ceiling from 2019 has those little ridges because I skipped that step. Anyone have a good method for wetting it without making a soggy mess?

Just spray it lightly with a spray bottle, that's what works for me!

Remember when everyone used to fight with those plastic grocery bags that stick together? My neighbor saw me struggling once and just said to wet your fingertips a little. Why do we always miss the simple fix until someone shows us?

Ever notice how many things have a simple trick that changes everything? Like you can struggle with something for years, then one person mentions a basic step and it all clicks. That hardware store guy gave you the kind of tip that spreads because it just works. It makes me wonder what else I'm doing the hard way without knowing there's a simpler path. Those little bits of shared knowledge are what actually hold projects, and maybe communities, together.
