That fancy tile leveling system everyone loves was a waste of money for my backsplash

I spent $60 on those spin levelers for my kitchen tile job in Nashville and regretted it the whole time. My standard spacers and a straight edge worked just as good on a 12x12 subway tile layout with no lippage issues. The clips kept snapping and I burned way too much time on cleanup. Has anyone else had better luck with these just on large format stuff?

I feel that pain about picking plastic shards out of grout. I spent a whole Sunday doing the same thing and found a clip piece in my coffee mug the next morning. These levelers are just not worth it for small tile. I switched back to using a straight edge and some rubber wedges for my subway jobs and never looked back. My backsplash was way less of a headache.

Oh @mila_harris that sounds brutal. I once spent a whole afternoon trying to get super glue off my kitchen counter and ended up just painting over it.
