The rechargeable work light I swore was a gimmick is now the only light I use

You know what's funny about this pattern? I've noticed it happening more and more with tools and gadgets in general. They keep making things smarter but sometimes the simpler stuff ends up being the most useful (like the old corded tools my dad had). The rechargeable thing is definitely a game changer though, no more tripping over extension cords or hunting for an outlet that's not being used by something else. It's like how we don't really appreciate something until it proves itself over time, you know? The whole "try it and see" approach has become my go-to for anything that looks too good to be true, and sometimes it actually works out.

Had the same exact experience with one I bought on a whim from a hardware store clearance bin. Thought it would die after a few months but it's been going strong for over a year now. The magnet on the back is way stronger than I expected too, so I can stick it to metal shelves or the underside of my car hood without it falling off. What really sold me was the battery indicator light, no more guessing if it's about to die in the middle of a job. Only downside is I wish it had a dedicated hook for hanging upside down, but a zip tie solved that problem easy.

Read an article a while back that talked about how rechargeable tools are getting better battery tech than some flagship phones. Makes sense why these lights last longer than you'd expect for the price. Kind of funny how something so simple can outsmart the expensive stuff.
