Tried painting my bathroom with cheap primer and the whole thing peeled off in sheets after 3 days

Had to strip every inch of the walls down to drywall and start over after I skimped on a $12 can of Kilz at Lowes, has anyone else had the same thing happen with budget primers?

Wait... you mean it literally peeled off in sheets like wallpaper or something? That's crazy, I've seen bad primer jobs bubble up before but never had the whole thing just let go like that after three days. I used that cheap Valspar stuff from Lowes once on a closet and it came off in big chunks when I taped it, but not the whole room. You must have been so mad having to strip all that back down to drywall, I would have lost my mind doing that over a twelve dollar can of Kilz.

Fifteen rolls of frog tape later and I've never had a single issue with Kilz so maybe it's the prep work not the primer.

Buddy of mine used the super cheap stuff on his garage walls, peeled like a snake skin a week later.
