That little doodle trick with a paperclip actually works
I'm always making tiny sketches on sticky notes during lunch break. Problem was my shaky lines looked too wobbly. Last week I tried taping a paperclip to my pen near the tip as a guide, feels like stabilizer. It kept my hand steady and the lines came out way cleaner. Has anyone else found a weird desk tool that helps with doodle control?

The heavier pen thing made my wrist sore too after about 20 minutes of doodling. One thing I noticed with the paperclip trick is that it works way better if you use a binder clip instead of a regular paperclip since it stays put and doesn't slide around as you rotate the pen. Did you find the paperclip digging into your fingers at all or did you position it a specific way? I wrapped a piece of washi tape over the clip where my thumb sits and that solved the pressure point problem for me.

...I actually saw some artist online talking about a similar thing with a rubber band wrapped around the pen for grip control... claims it helps with the micro-movements. I tried it with a hair tie and it felt weird at first but it did stop my hand from sliding around as much. The paperclip trick sounds smart though, I might give that a shot for my little doodles too. There was also something I read about using a heavier pen to naturally steady your hand but that just made my wrist tired.
