My bedroom window finally slides smooth after a simple fix
I mean, it was sticking for weeks and driving me nuts. Just rubbed some candle wax on the tracks and now it's like butter.

That candle wax trick is GENIUS, man. My bathroom window was sticking so bad last winter I thought the frame was bent. Tried WD-40 first and it just made a dusty, greasy mess. Finally rubbed a dry bar of soap on the track like my grandpa said, and it worked the exact same way. So satisfying when a stupid little fix actually works.

Why do we always go for the fancy fix first instead of the simple one? It's a pattern I see everywhere, like we're programmed to buy solutions instead of using what's already around. My mom always had a bar of soap or a candle for squeaky doors and sticky drawers... those old tricks just work. Feels like we're losing that kind of basic know-how, you know? That moment when something slides smooth again is so quietly satisfying.
