Pro tip: A $7 tube of caulk saved my bathroom floor
I was about to tear out the shower base in my apartment near the kitchen because water kept pooling under it last Tuesday. Then my landlord's handyman showed me how a thin bead of silicone caulk along the edge sealed the gap and stopped the leak completely. Has anyone else fixed a bigger problem with just a caulking gun and some patience?

Silicone caulk fixed a leaky fish tank once, saved me 40 bucks.

@lopez.jana Did that hold up long term? I tried a similar fix on a small crack in my aquarium and it ended up peeling off after a couple months, water started seeping out again real slow. How did you prep the surface before applying the silicone? I scuffed mine with sandpaper but maybe that wasn't enough. Were you patching from the inside or outside of the tank?
