Spent $140 on a name-brand caulk gun and I'm split on if it was worth it
I picked up a premium dripless caulk gun for $140 after getting frustrated with the cheap ones oozing everywhere, but honestly the seal on the tube still blew out on my second window trim job. Meanwhile my buddy swears by a $12 gun from the dollar store that he's used for years without issues. Is there really a difference in caulk guns or am I just paying for hype?

Oh come on, is losing a spring really that big of a deal? Half the time people just dig a new one out of a junk drawer and move on with their lives.

Peeled the plastic off a brand new one and the spring flew right across the garage never to be seen again.

Oh man, is that the worst feeling or what? I mean, you spend all that time carefully peeling the plastic thinking you're being careful, and then bam - tiny spring goes on a one-way trip to who-knows-where. My record is still three days before I gave up and ordered a replacement part online. It's like they design these things to be impossible to keep track of once they're free. I've started working over a big towel or something now whenever I know a spring might pop out. Hope you eventually found it or at least managed to get a replacement without too much hassle.
