The way people overtighten cabinet hinges drives me nuts

I moved into a place last year and every single cabinet door was crooked because someone went full gorilla on the screws. Took me maybe 20 minutes with a screwdriver to loosen them all up and adjust the hinges so stuff actually closes. I see it all the time at work too, tenants cranking screws down until the hinge bends. Makes me wonder if most folks just think tighter equals better with no middle ground. Has anyone else had to fix a whole kitchen of doors after a previous owner got carried away?

Did I do that to my own IKEA kitchen? Maybe. No comment.

Did you try loosening every screw on one door first to see it line up?
