Wasted $40 on a fancy toilet repair kit that didn't fix a thing
Last month I grabbed one of those universal toilet flapper kits from Lowe's for $40 because my toilet was running nonstop. Spent 2 hours installing it and the thing still leaked after I flushed. Turns out the rubber seal was just slightly too big for my older toilet model. Had to go back and get a $6 standard flapper that worked on the first try. Has anyone else bought a 'universal' repair part that was totally useless?

Can't believe they charged $40 for something that didn't even fit right.

$40 and it didn't fit? Sounds like they charged you extra for the disappointment.

Returned mine and got a better fitting shirt for less, @the_nathan.
