Finally figured out the trick to getting old paint off glass

I was stripping a window frame and the paint on the pane was impossible. Instead of scraping forever, I used a heat gun on low for about 15 seconds and it peeled right off in one sheet. Anyone have a better method for multi-pane windows?

Wait, you didn't worry about the glass cracking like @hayden144 said?

Try a razor scraper with glass cleaner instead to avoid any heat damage.

Heat guns work great but I'm always nervous about cracking the glass with sudden temperature changes. Did you have any issues with the putty or glazing compound around the pane getting too soft? I've found that can mess up the seal if you're not careful.
