Found a weird crack in my basement wall last month

Narrow vertical line near the floor, not even a quarter inch wide. Did the tape trick to see if it's growing and now I'm paranoid. Anyone dealt with foundation settling before?

Tape a glass pane over it and check for moisture before you do anything else.

Taped a piece of cardboard over mine first to see if it was wet behind the wall, but the glass trick sounds smarter lol. Ended up just pulling the baseboard and found a slow drip from a pipe fitting, so maybe check that too if you get nothing with the glass.
