My dad insisted I needed a 4-foot level for tiling a bathroom floor

He said 'You'll see the dip when you're done if you don't,' and I figured my 2-foot level was fine. After laying about 30 tiles, I saw a clear low spot that pooled water. I had to pull up half a day's work and start over with the longer level. Anyone have a good trick for spotting floor dips before you start tiling?

My dad’s old 4-foot level has saved me from that exact headache more than once.

But like, how off are we talking? If it's just a tiny bit, does it even matter for most stuff? I've put up shelves that were a little crooked and nobody notices.

What about using a straight board with a shorter level on top? Honestly, you can slide it around to check a bigger area without needing one giant tool. Tbh it saved me when my floor was just a little off.
