Overheard a neighbor say his basement floor drain backup was from flushing 'flushable' wipes
I checked my own pipes last weekend and found a wad of those things already starting to clog the line, so now I'm switching to plain toilet paper and a trash can for wipes - anyone else ditch the so-called flushable kind after a scare like this?

but honestly the "flushable" label is basically just marketing and most of the wipes break down way slower than toilet paper so it's not a big deal. I've been using them for years in my own house and never had a clog, maybe your neighbor just had old pipes or a bigger issue going on. why go through the hassle of a trash can when the wipes are fine if your plumbing is in decent shape?

Wait @morgan898 youve been flushing these things for YEARS without a single backup? My plumber buddy says wipes are basically concrete for pipes I can't believe youve gotten away with it that long.

@jenkins.reese totally agree, switched to a bidet and never looked back. No clogs since.
