Pro tip: Check your drill clutch before sinking trim screws

Spent an afternoon stripping out 8 cabinet hinge screws because I had the clutch set too high. My buddy walked over, dialed it back to 6, and the next screw seated perfect with zero chatter. Anyone else forget this simple step when switching between materials?

Nah, I think clutch settings get way too much hype for cabinet work... you can feel when the screw is seated and just let off. I've been setting mine to the highest setting for years and stripping maybe one screw a year.

Heard a pro cabinet builder say the exact same thing @lopez.jana.

Honestly, that's exactly why I set mine to 3 and just feather the trigger.
