Saw a smart fix for old tile at the library in Springfield

Honestly, I was at the Springfield Public Library last week and they had this old bathroom with cracked floor tiles. Instead of replacing them, they used a color matched epoxy filler and then painted a tiny pattern over the repair with a fine brush. It blended so well you had to look close to see it. The librarian said it cost them about $15 for the materials and took maybe an hour. Tbh, I'm thinking of trying it on my own kitchen backsplash where a tile chipped. Has anyone else tried a painted repair like this on ceramic tile?

Wait, wouldn't the paint just wash off a kitchen backsplash? That area gets wet and cleaned all the time. My friend tried painting a chip on her tile and it looked good for a month, but then it started to peel and look worse than the original chip.

Yeah, I did that on a chipped tile in my entryway. The paint held up fine for a few years until we finally redid the floor.

That's a solid run for a quick fix. My own paint touch-ups, @robinson.hannah, usually last until I spill something on them the next week.
