Vent: My friend's new house in Phoenix has a bathroom vanity that's 48 inches off the floor
I was helping him move in last weekend and the first thing I noticed was how high the bathroom counter was. It's like it was built for someone over 6 feet tall. He says he loves it and it saves his back, but his wife can barely reach the faucet. They're arguing about whether to cut the legs down or build a step stool into the cabinet. Has anyone else run into a weird height issue like this with a standard fixture?

Forty-eight inches... that's like kitchen counter height.

Actually, that's way too low for most counters. Standard height is thirty-six inches, which feels totally different. You might be thinking of a bar height table or something.

Yeah, standard counter height is 36 inches. A 48-inch surface is usually for a standing desk or a really tall bar.
