Going against my office: Why I champion group CAD reviews
Most drafters here finish their drawings by themselves! I make a case for team sessions to check files, because it finds errors early. How does your team handle drawing checks?

Group reviews can quietly spread the blame when things go wrong later. It turns a single drafter's mistake into a team oversight, which management loves. That shared accountability is the real, unspoken benefit for bosses.

Absolves the original drafter of sole responsibility.

The team review process at my last company had a clear rule, the draft owner still got 70% of the blame in official reports. @alex307 is right about spreading blame, but it's not equal. The group note just adds names to the "also failed to catch" list. The original drafter's name is still bolded at the top. Management gets their shared oversight note, but the individual still takes the biggest hit. It's a system designed to look fair while keeping the main pressure on one person.
