Old CAD guy told me to ditch dynamic blocks for parametric constraints
After 8 years using dynamic blocks for everything, a senior drafter at our shop in Cleveland said I was wasting time. He showed me how parametric constraints update automatically when dimensions change, no more stretching grips. It took me about 20 hours to redo my standard library, but now my electrical panel layouts update instantly. Anyone else made the switch or think dynamic blocks are still better for certain jobs?

Dynamic blocks still beat parametric constraints for simple door swings.

Yeah, "simple door swings" is the key part there. I was watching a to-the-point tutorial from a guy who drafts for a cabinet shop, and he said the same thing more or less. He was showing how with dynamic blocks you can just grab the grip and rotate the door, while with parametric you have to fiddle with a bunch of dimension settings. It seems like overkill when a door is really just a line and an arc. Parametric constraints feel like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut in those cases.
