Pro tip: That cheap drafting board I bought on Craigslist works just as good as the fancy ones

I was skeptical about a $40 drafting board I found in Phoenix, figured it would wobble or have bad edges. Used it for 6 months now on a commercial project and the surface is still dead flat. Anyone else find good gear secondhand that saved your back?

Blew my mind a $40 board stayed flat for commercial work, seriously impressive.

Hate to be that guy but $40 boards have an annoying habit of looking fine at first then turning into a potato chip three months later. Especially in a commercial space where the AC cycles on and off all day. Seen plenty of "flat" cheap plywood start curling at the edges once the humidity drops. Give it a full season before calling it a miracle. That MDF stuff in the same price range warps just looking at it funny.

Yeah that 40 bucks was a steal for no warping at all.
