Vent: Almost trashed a whole set of plans because of a hidden layer
I spent 3 hours last night chasing a dimension that kept shifting on a commercial HVAC layout, and it turned out someone had set a base layer to 'no plot' but left it active. I nearly sent the prints to the plotter with a dozen ghost lines that would have confused the fabricator. Has anyone else had a sneaky layer setting mess up their cad file?

Plot settings are the ultimate ghost in the machine.

Have you had to scrap a whole setup just because one detail in the timeline didn't line up, @sandraflores? It's like the fiction gods just laugh at you while you rework everything.

Oh man, @sandraflores YES this is so real! A buddy of mine was writing this fantasy novel and spent weeks building this whole elaborate city layout. She had the markets, the palace, the river running through it, everything mapped out perfectly. Then she realized her main character had to cross from the east gate to the west gate in like 5 minutes for a scene to work, but her own map showed it was a 45 minute walk. She had to scrap the entire setting and start over with a smaller city. The fiction gods definitely had their laugh that day.
