Had a cutterhead chain snap on me last Thursday
We were pulling mud in Mobile Bay when the whole dredge shook and the pump went quiet. Found a broken link in the main drive chain, which had wrapped around the shaft. Took my crew about six hours to cut it free and get a new section bolted in. Anyone know a good brand for heavy duty replacement chains that can handle big shell pieces?

Seen that happen a few times. It's like the weakest link always finds the worst moment to give out.

Yeah, it's brutal how that works. I mean, it's always the one old cable you didn't replace that fries during a storm, or the grocery bag with the eggs that rips. Feels like the universe has a bad sense of timing.

Right? The weakest link thing. My buddy's car battery died in his driveway right after he got back from the store with a trunk full of ice cream. Just perfect timing.
