I was reading a dredge history book from the library and found out the biggest suction dredge ever built could move 10,000 cubic yards an hour... that's like a football field dug down 5 feet every 60 minutes.

Is it even that big a deal?

That machine could dig the Panama Canal in a fraction of the time. Hard to even picture that scale of earth moving.
