Question about those cheap hydraulic hose fittings from that online auction site
Bought a whole set for $150 thinking I was saving a fortune, but one blew out under pressure and cost me a full day's work on the river. Anyone know a reliable supplier that won't fail like that?

What did you expect for $150?

A hundred and fifty bucks? The_stella, that's barely the cost of a decent dinner out for two. You can't get real industrial parts for that price, just cheap copies. I've seen what happens when those fail on the road, and it's never pretty. Paying more upfront saves you a world of hurt later.

That river story is a classic lesson. The_stella has a point, you get what you pay for. My shop learned the hard way with a batch of cheap couplers that sheared off at 2500 psi. Now we only buy from the local industrial supply house, even if it costs triple. The downtime from a blowout is always more expensive than the fitting.
